Accessories: Reinvent a lamp shade
Share
A kids room makeover under a tight budget meant reusing or reinventing furniture and accessories. I found a lamp in the shed that was in good condition. The base of the lamp was perfect for my color scheme but not the lamp shade.

Fortunately, I had enough left over material from the curtains to rescue the shade. I used a simple technique - snip and rip to get all the strips of fabric to cover the lampshade. I used about a two and a half inch wide strips for my project.

Glue the strips of fabrics to the lamp shade. Start on the inside of the shade. Use multiple dots of glue to secure the fabric and avoid gaps.

I think the little details are precious and just as important to our children as they are to us!
