Recycled curtain finials used as door knobs!
My husband and I are empty nesters and recently downsized into a patio home. Today I would like to share with you one of the many DIY projects we decided to implement in our house.
I love to up-cycle and recycle. For my pantry area I bought two old doors from the Old Town Architectural Salvage in Wichita Kansas. I applied an old world painting technique to the doors to make them look even older. (We will feature that DIY tutorial in the coming months).

To finish off my doors, I up-cycled a pair of decorative finials I wasn’t using anymore to use as door knobs. Simple to do and very eclectic.
I think of door knobs and drawer handles as jewelry in a room.
